  • Latino Leadership Fund Challenge
    permanent fund provides the flexibility to invest the principal and grant the earnings thus ensure the support for Latino leadership development for many years to come The Latino Leadership Fund LLF will provide annual grantmaking support to 501 c 3 organizations and programs that educate train prepare and mentor Latinos in the various spheres of social influence The LLF is built on the premise that the Latino community is resilient has a spirit of risk taking and innovation and is grounded in the hope for a getter future for their families and their communities Grants will initially be awarded to leadership development programs that Engage Latino students in political science business schools law schools health and human services or other fields Train prepare and place Latinos on civic or corporate boards commissions or task forces Promote leadership in diverse fields and sectors Grantmaking Process OCF will announce at the end of the Fund challenge campaign December 2015 the grant making process and how to apply According to a 2013 survey by the Pew Research Center three fourths of Latinos say their community needs a leader Most either cannot name one Latino leader or don t believe one exists In Oregon where Latinos represent the largest minority population there are very few Latinos in leadership positions Leaders are not born They are nurtured inspired mentored and educated Thus the goal of the Latino Leadership Fund to create resources for programs that provide this type of critical support in our community How well the Latino community does effects how well we all do in our communities It s the challenge for the state and the nation Take on the challenge Be part of the solution The OCF Latino Leadership Fund and Challenge first to the Latino community is to raise an additional
