of the anti water charges movement The criticism of those refusing to support the boycott or those who attempt to stage manage events is a valid criticism and by and large has been made in a constructive manner It is extremely frustrating of the AAA and the PBPA to be attacked and vilified in a grossly unfair and false manner Experienced political activists are well used to this it is the newer activists that feel the strain of such antics So your criticism of the AAA and the PBPA is utterly unfounded in this case The criticism you make should be targeted at other forces within the anti water charges movement not the organised left Dignified firm and friendly Whatever happened to comradely equal and respectful How did the AAA select its candidates It is a non membership organisation We cannot withdraw our cards from the game Were we as silent and mute as stones our very passivity would be an act Jean Paul Sartre Reply With Quote 06 05 2015 03 21 PM 21 Jolly Red Giant Unions Work for a Left Electoral Alliance So you have run candidates in maybe 5 26 counties in the GE and 7 26 in the locals the latter being especially pitiful given how many people are able to compete locally with little money More or less confirms what I said with 1 or 2 exceptions such as Carlow and Laois I am well aware of the Local Election fiasco that unfolded in Louth You know the usual job where 2 wallies from the 2 Wally parties stood against each other and lost the only socialist seat in Drogheda Of course you repeated this trend in the European elections and in othr Local Authority areas limiting your gains to the cities again by and large and losing a European seat in the process Murphy won the By Election because he out maneuvered SF himself on the Water Tax Issue but the stratgey there was equally as dopey so much so I found myself actually agreeing with the RTE moderator in that debate making a number of very good and very obvious points that you are both the same party and this idiocy and one man upmanship fools nobody Wallies who are out to cause a fight that s all the AAA PBP heads are I d give my vote to a left independent or something but you lads would be right down the bottom of my list just before after the Greens or the local community services An Post small farmer candidate depending on which way the mood takes me if any of you ever had the neck to run in a GE in Louth that is Strikes me if you wallies stopped running in the same areas you might be able to cover more ground and win more seats Last edited by Apjp 06 05 2015 at 03 33 years on the chin and a lot of them come across as condescending and aggressive Feel free to edit the above post to take out the words crazy and snob if they offend you I realise the way I used the word Crazy probably broke a site rule and I m sorry it broke a site rule I ve been in touch with the admin and have agreed not to use those two words again but I am not going to re edit a post to suit you given our interactions down the years and what I know others took from your remarks Maybe I deserve an infraction or whatever comes my way for the word I used but I certainly don t appreciate the way I and others have felt obliged to put up with very provocative stuff just because of your position That s all I have to say As long as I am on this site I will try to keep our interaction to a minimum to avoid further distraction and conflict I don t accept because a word is Marxist it is not a term of abuse in certain contexts I could say the word Crazy is a clinical word but it would still be considered a term of abuse in a lot of contexts i e this one for which I ve apologised Last edited by Apjp 07 05 2015 at 12 22 PM Reply With Quote Page 2 of 10 First 1 2 3 4 Last Jump to page the two Right2Water Unions conferences is to begin that discussion and to open up our democracy to everybody across this island We believe the democratic system at present is not representative of the Irish people and that is showing through in the submissions to date On June 13th we will be convening another conference where we will have a discussion on the contents of the submissions which will help us to develop a full policy paper that is truly democratic and representative of the anti water charges movement The Right2Water Unions are calling on all political parties trade unions community groups NGO s and individuals to read the Policy Principles document and to send in their own submission As conferences seem to be invitation only this is a very constricted and top down joke It has massive potential and is a brilliant idea but there s been no questioning of the background of some of those signed up For example DDI are being trumpeted in it when their leader has posted about his admiration of Nigel Farage on social media in the past has links to Freemen bolloxology and is openly against repealing the 8th on his clip for RTE I haven t even dug into the independents that are linked to it too As well as that they are like a modern day version of the Duke of York marching people around Dublin every couple of months I get the point of rallies but surely there can be a mix up in tactics as well As I say it is something that had so much potential but the promoting of some of those signed up allied with the teenager style bitching about the AAA before Christmas on the social media has ruined it for me anyway Reply With Quote Yesterday 10 43 PM 147 bolshevik View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Visit Homepage Senior Member Join Date Jan that is the Southern North Sea and English Channel Knowing their migration routes and likely locations they could all play war games and pretend the whales are enemy submarines and deploy sonar to steer the whales to deeper waters With modern technology surely beacons emitting mating sounds or whatever could be deployed to point the way Aswell as examining the cause we should look for the cure is found mostly on the fringes of the North Sea in England Germany and the Netherlands where it reaches levels of one third That distribution suggests that some of the first men to bear the haplogroup in their Y chromosomes were residents of Doggerland a real life Atlantis that was swallowed up by rising seas in the millennia following the Ice Age Forget Atlantis talk about shades of Tolkien s Numenor Doggerland was a low lying region of forests and wetlands that paleontologists believe connected Britain to the European mainland And it must have been a hunter s paradise Present day fishing trawlers in the North Sea occasionally dredge up the bones and tusks of the mastodons and other game from the ocean floor Doggerland had its heyday between about 12 000 years ago when the Ice Age climate began to ameliorate and 9 000 years ago when the meltwaters of the gradually retreating glaciers caused sea levels to rise drowning the hunter s paradise Doggerland s inhabitants retreated to the higher ground that is now the North Sea coast On my mother s side which hails from County Cork We cannot withdraw our cards from the game Were we as silent and mute as stones our very gear off the Inner Hebrides and even IF the Rooskies would be sneaking around in German coastal waters they d hardly ping around with active sonar which would give away their presence Active sonar btw is far more often used by surface ships and maritime patrol aircraft in ASW exercises Submarines prefer to remain silent And then there are countless non military applications for sonar scientists cartographers use it for sea bed scanning commercial fish finders and treasure hunters etc Last edited by TotalMayhem Yesterday at 08 18 PM Thus all which you call Sin Destruction in brief Evil that But the Baltic Sea their usual area of operation They are pretty much the only submarines NATO has in the Baltic apart from four ancient Polish diesel clunkers built in Germany in the 1960s purchased from Norway In the North Sea you d rather find Dutch and Norwegian submarines Thus all which you call Sin Destruction in brief Evil that is my true element Reply With Quote Page 2 of 2 First 1 2 Jump
