    that could be jarred loose by an earthquake or volcanic event there are threats of floods And now the threat of mudslides Kevin became active in the Northwest Tribal Emergency Management Council of which he is an officer as Secretary He has made national presentations on emergency response He helped start and continue to participate in the BIG WALK that follows the tribal people s ancestral walk across the Cascade Pass into the Eastern plains of the state On this walk an archeologist found fire pits that dates back 9 700 years He assists the tribal Pow Wow in the 4th of July Parade of kids and the Fishing Derby for kids in Darrington All this while being Vice Chair and Housing Department Assistant of the Sauk Suiattle Indian Tribe Natural Resource Protection The Billy Frank Jr Natural Resource Protection Award Jeromy Sullivan is an enrolled member of the Port Gamble S Klallam Tribe has served as an elected official of Tribal Council for nearly a decade first as a Councilman for four years and currently as Tribal Chairman since 2010 Prior to being elected to Tribal Council Jeremony worked as an Information Technology Manager for the Tribe In addition for close to two decades he has been a commercial Geoduck Harvester This knowledge of natural resources has helped in his focus on the protection and restoration of Port Gamble Bay part of the Tribe s ancestral home and other stewardship issues that directly affect treaty rights He has also worked hard to secure the Tribe s economic prosperity bringing forth new initiatives that allow the Tribe to better meet its economic goals Jeremony and his wife Toni along with their two children live in Little Boston the Tribe s reservation Education The Patricia Whitefoot Education Award Cornel Pewewardy PhD

    Philanthropist of the Year Award Seventh Generation Fund for Indigenous Peoples 2015 recipient The Blanket Ceremony 2015 Philanthropist of the Year Award We honor the Native tradition of giving each year by recognizing outstanding philanthropists within Indian Country Seventh Generation Fund was founded in 1977 emerging from a call from Indigenous communities in the Americas during the cultural social and political renaissance era of the 1960 s and 1970 s Leaders of the time such as our primary founder the late Daniel Bomberry Salish Cayuga included chiefs clan mothers youth and community activists who established the organization to respond to the needs of grassroots Indigenous communities and initiatives engaged in cultural revitalization leadership development tribal sovereignty and culturally appropriate economic development strategies Seventh Generation Fund grew and evolved into the foremost Indigenous non profit social profit organization in the United States Today the organization s mission remains as their founders originally envisioned dedicated to promoting Indigenous Peoples self determination and the sovereignty of Native nations Seventh Generation Fund have long recognized the critical need at the Native grassroots community level for access to resources technical assistance and training to address an overall need for healthy and sustainable environments Their work
