    reported and are working with the Mahwah Police Department regarding the theft of the logs from our Longhouse Chief Perry has requested that this be investigated as a hate crime because of the religious aspect of the crime Stay tuned for more information TRIBAL ENROLLMENT CARDS Enrollment is still closed pending the purchase of a new card machine A tribe member graciously offered to purchase the machine for the tribe We will notify all when it becomes available and new cards are being processed Please note that your cards are valid as long as they have the name of our current or one of our previous Chiefs OUR COMMUNITY CENTER The Community Center attached to the office is available for Tribal use Baby Showers Birthday parties meetings etc The Men s Group meets every other Thursday at 6 pm Please contact Clay Mann for more information WALL OF HONOR The Council is requesting pictures of Veteran and current tribe members past and present who have served in the military For our Veteran members we would like to ceremoniously recognize and honor their service to our country Please send bring a copy of your picture to the office If you have an original we can make a copy to hang ALSO IMPORTANT REGISTER TO VOTE NATIVE VOTES MATTER MAKE YOUR VOICE BE HEARD SILENT NO MORE EVENTS RAMAPOUGHS CALLED TO BE VISIBLE May 14 2016 BROOK SCHOOL HILLBURN to be registered as an Historical Site There will be a dedication ceremony as it is being listed as a NY Historical Site As the date gets closer we will have more information regarding time of the ceremony It will be noted that NAACP local chapter President Marion Van Dunk and other community parents with the help of the NAACP and various celebrities were able to integrated the school in a landmark case for then attorney Thurgood Marshall JUNE 2016 Floyd Hicks and Deke DeFreese have been invited to meet with a group of Hawaiians who have been canoeing around the world They will be in our area in June More information to follow as it becomes available JULY 24 2016 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION Per Chief Perry we will be the lead in a major march at the Convention in Philadelphia The tribe will provide busing which will be at no charge We are currently working on logistics and will post information as it becomes available IT IS IMPORTANT TO MAKE OUR PRESENCE KNOWN The Men s Club is looking for flag carriers for the March Please contact Clay Mann if you are interested Also contact Debbie DeFreese regarding a ribbon shirt for all flag carriers AUG 20 ONE DAY VETERANS POW WOW 11 am to 5 pm American Legion Waywayanda Ave Middletown NY We will be the host drum at this event Dancers are needed Please contact Floyd Hicks if you are interested Pages 501C3 Anti extraction movement in the US gains momentum Archives Climate Change March NYC 9 21 14 Contact
