    Corporate Sponsorship Friends of the Bend Event Planning Barn Rentals Barn Rentals Overview Home Event Planning Barn Rentals Barn Rentals Whether your objective is work or pleasure Riverbend can offer guests a unique tranquil setting set apart from the bustle of the Main Line The Snider Barn a renovated 1923 Sears Roebuck catalogue barn offers rustic beauty and a full line up of modern amenities to perfectly complement your small to medium sized gathering Our fully restored barn includes the Main Room suitable for sit down dinners for up to 50 people casual cocktail parties or slideshow presentations on our six foot screen Also available is our bright and sunny Overlook Room perfect for business meetings or our cozy Mezzanine library area overlooking the Main Room A small kitchen to accommodate catering and two restrooms are situated on the Main Floor to provide you with all the comfort and ease you expect for your guests For slightly larger functions we offer two finished patios as well as our outdoor classroom which seats 50 and has a covered stage area Please note we have only 32 parking spaces so larger events will require hiring a valet service Barn Rental Includes Use of all main floor rooms Use of outdoor classroom On site staff person Use of tables and chairs Trails benches ponds and picnic tables Consult with us about optional education programs or guided hikes presented to your guests Rates Rates are 200 per hour for private and corporate functions Rates are 100 per hour for non profit groups weekdays only Please include setup and cleanup time in your planning Riverbend members receive a 10 discount for private functions Policies A reservation must be made An advanced deposit of 50 must accompany the signed contract Certificate of insurance is required All

    rich and varied history In the 16th and 17th century the local residents were a band of Lenape Native Americans who were part of a loose confederation of the Algonquin Nation Known as the Unami Tribe these Lenape established their summer station in the curve of the Schuylkill River that gives Riverbend its namesake The last written record of Native American activity in the vicinity of Riverbend was an encampment at Black Rocks in 1740 From its inclusion in the 1682 William Penn land grant of 5 000 acres to British settler Joshua Holland Riverbend was eventually transferred to Welsh Quaker Morris Llewellyn Sr a farmer with huge land holdings called Indian Fields Bryn Mawr Gladwyne and Bala Cynwyd reflect this period of Welsh influence At this time Spring Mill Road was said to lead to a ford and later to a ferry crossing the Schuylkill River and eventually joining up with Spring Mill Road on the Conshohocken side Although remnants of the old road are still visible on Riverbend s property access to the river was cut off by the 1950 s construction of the Schuylkill Expressway Many visitors are curious about the lovely dry masonry stone walls that intersect both Riverbend and surrounding property To discover their origins one must look back to the Civil War era in 1864 when the United States army leased land from local farmers to establish Camp Discharge This camp whose sentry house still stands at the entrance of Sentry Lane housed soldiers released from southern prison camps before they returned to civilian life One way they employed their time was in the construction of the many stone walls around Riverbend In the post Civil War era of America s Industrial Revolution the land surrounding Riverbend caught the eye of Conshohocken s leading

    to Riverbend in 2010 As the Property and Volunteer Manager she works with individual volunteers and a variety of volunteer groups to do much of the work needed to manage our 30 acre site Jeanne received her BA in Psychology from Earlham College and a master s degree in Social Service Management from Bryn Mawr College Her career has focused on creating and managing programs in various educational settings Originally from Buffalo Jeanne now lives in Havertown with her husband and three sons and is heavily in involved in a number of civic groups including serving on the Shade Tree Commission and coordinating the Tree Tenders Program Lisa Hancock Director of Development lhancock riverbendeec org 610 527 5234 ext 111 Lisa joined Riverbend in 2015 as our Director of Development Prior to this she served as Development Director of the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls Her non profit career in conservation and environmental education began with service on the Board of the Valley Forge Audubon Society followed by nine years directing membership and communications for Montgomery County Lands Trust now merged with Natural Lands Trust Growing up fishing the creeks hiking the dunes and sailing the lakes of Michigan led to her life long love of the outdoors This in turn drives her strong desire to raise the essential fundraising resources needed to steward and protect our natural world With her two children now grown she enjoys hiking kayaking travel and volunteering for local non profit organizations Hadley Kunz Camp Manager hkunz riverbendeec org 610 527 5234 ext 106 Camp and nature have always been a big part of Hadley s life She grew up in Narberth and cultivated a love of the outdoors while running around her neighborhood and spending long weekends exploring the Poconos Hadley spent her summers in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey at a sleepover camp first as a camper then as a counselor After graduating from West Virginia University with a degree in Journalism she moved to Hawaii to pursue adventure During her stay she worked at a year round YMCA camp climbing from a Volunteer to Program Instructor and then as the School Programs Director where she supervised a staff of 10 20 and hosted over 100 schools annually Some of her favorite memories in Hawaii were spent with campers in the botanic native nursery and aquaponics center Recently she moved back to be closer to family and became a preschool teacher before joining Riverbend in the spring of 2016 She is currently earning her Masters in Education with an emphasis on Child Development and looks forward to practicing what she learns each day while working with the children at Riverbend Besides being outdoors she also love books Disney her two cats and searching Philadelphia for the best sushi Lisa Matthews Community Relations Manager lmatthews riverbendeec org 610 527 5234 ext 104 Lisa first fell in love with nature while growing up among the pines of Medford Lakes NJ She has
