    contact the Scott offices at 610 328 8025 back to calendar June 16 Green Roof Tour Thursday June 16 Noon to 1 pm Tours depart from the Scott Arboretum Offices and are free and open to the public Learn about the inner workings benefits and beauty of green roofs while exploring the three different roofs we have at the Arboretum Please note the level of difficulty on these tours is higher than others we offer a brisk walk and several steps are required to access each roof Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the roofs The tour will begin at the Scott Arboretum Offices and is free and open to the public In case of inclement weather the tour will be canceled For more information please call the Scott Arboretum Offices at 610 328 8025 back to calendar June 16 Brewing with Botanicals Thursday June 16 7 to 8 30 pm Wister Center Home brewer Keith Sansoni will begin with the brewing process equipment raw ingredients wort fermentation and packaging He will then cover which herbs spices and flowers to use and how to harvest them fresh and select them dry Using botanicals in the brewing process will be discussed including aging beer tea extracts and tincture blending This is a great class for homebrewers and for those who simply enjoy trying new and interesting beers There will be time for tasting and evaluating the beer Limit 25 Members 35 Non members 45 Register online or call 610 328 8025 Cancellation Policy The Scott Arboretum retains the right to cancel any program due to lack of enrollment or unforeseen problems Refunds for classes will only be available if notice is given 10 business days before the class back to calendar June 14 Van Trip Ambler Arboretum Meadowbrook Farm and Bryn Athyn Cathedral Friday June 17 departs at 8 45 am departs from Wister Center The Ambler Arboretum of Temple University is a 187 acre site that encompasses the Ambler Campus The diverse grounds include beautifully designed gardens and impressive trees Its three areas of focus are sustainability the health benefits of gardens and the history of women in horticulture agriculture and design Horticulturist Kathryn Reber former gardener for the Scott Arboretum will be guiding our tour Our second stop of the day will be Meadowbrook Farm to tour lunch and shop Meadowbrook in Jenkintown is the legacy of J Liddon Pennock Jr 1913 2003 Seven of the 25 acres contain the private house display gardens and garden center In 2004 Meadowbrook Farm became a nonprofit affiliate of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Our final stop will be the awe inspiring Bryn Athyn Cathedral overlooking the picturesque Pennypack Creek Valley in Bryn Athyn To view the craftsmanship of the building inside and out combined with the lovely gardens surrounding this impressive cathedral will be the perfect close to our day Our tour will be led by horticulturist Danielle Odhner Travel by vans with Scott Arboretum staff Bring your
