    to be distributed at Feb meeting Feb Demo by Christy Sherman Making Kaleidoscopes Clay Weekend March 12 13 at St Paul s in Wallingford Class payments to be collected at meetings or mailed in to Sue Rankin before class Guild Announcements Congrats to Christy Sherman for winning the PCC Challenge in October with her Faux Jade Frog Necklace and Earrings Library changes We will be changing the way we lend books and tapes from the library Instead of charging per each loan we will request a deposit check for 30 Members will be able to borrow 2 tapes and books at each meeting The check will only be cashed if the tapes or book are not returned Check will be returned uncashed at the end of the year If materials can t be returned at the following meeting please make arrangements with the Librarian Sue Rankin New members will be able to borrow materials at their 2nd meeting Membership is Jan to Jan and dues of 15 are now due along with the request for 3 beads for the 2005 Beadstrand Call for Volunteers We need volunteers for a few positions Traveling Exhibit Coordinator Promotion Coordinator Website Assistant Please let

    November 27th 10AM 4PM http www fiberrevolution com Traveling Exhibit Mid Sept to Mid Oct C H Booth Library 25 Main St Newtown November Trumbull Library 33 Quality Street We re still accepting items to put on display in our Traveling Exhibit Minutes MINUTES FROM THE AUGUST 2004 MTG OF SCPCG Meeting called to order at 11 20 AM There were 10 members in attendance An excellent demo of Faux Enamel Technique using Liquid Clay and Pinata Inks was provided by Christy Sherman An additional handout on the technique provided complete details Lynne will demonstrate her Rose Cane technique at the September meeting Gerry will do a PMC demonstration in October with possible help from Libby November demo will be by Deb on tips for teaching a PC class December will have no demo as the annual tag sale will be held that meeting Lynne found a possible site for the Grant Diffendafer workshop October 23 24 at the Hotchkiss Hose Firehouse in Derby Cost is not yet known and Lynne will pursue the use of this space immediately Also Diane and Sharon are checking out the Masonic Hall in Northford as another option The workshop is titled Marvelous Mica Cost to attendees has not been established as it will depend on the price of the hall rental Once the site is determined Lynne will contact guild members retreat attendees and the regional guilds to publicize this event Diane provided an update on Clay ConneCTion 04 Survey forms showed almost 100 positive feedback on the event Complaints mostly concerned the food and the dorm rooms which are out of the guild s control Suggestions for next year include providing a list of area restaurants and fast food outlets so attendees can go out for early coffee or meals reminding people

    by August 31 at the very latest Traveling Exhibit August Killingworth Library 301 Route 81 Mid Sept to Mid Oct C H Booth Library 25 Main St Newtown November Trumbull Library 33 Quality Street Minutes MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 2004 MTG OF SCPCG 6 19 04 15 members and 2 guests were present at the meeting No demo today Tracy left the message that the Relay for Life in Newtown went wonderfully She still needs BoH for the next weekend Relay for Life in Bethel approximately 200 Bead Bazaar is September 11 th 2004 VERY soon after Clay ConneCTion It is in North Haven Holiday Inn The guild rents two tables and all members of the guild are welcome to participate Sets 3 to 7 beads and Focal beads seem to be the best sellers Cards to mount your items will be passed out at the July meeting The cards help in the uniform and neat look of the table make everything look more professional Also inventory sheets will be passed out for everyone participating to fill out listing all items donated If you help at the Bazaar table your commission is 10 if you do not it is 20 Lynne will be collecting your items at the August meeting August there will also be help with pricing your items and keeping the pricing uniform throughout the guild table Congratulations to the people who have items published in the latest polymer clay book 400 Polymer Clay Designs First time published anywhere are Libby Mills Sharon Mihalyak Barbara McKie for polymer clay Lynne Schwarzenberg and Cindy Seiwert Folks who have been published elsewhere but a re here also are Jody Bishel and Diane Villano Our guild alone has 17 items in this book Sue Rankin taught her first class and it
