    a conference seeking in cooperation status followed by a set of guidelines that will increase the chances that the SIGCOMM Executive Committee will approve a request Note that you may not use the ACM or SIGCOMM names or logos on materials promoting the conference websites CFPs etc prior to approval of the TMRF The non negotiable requirements are The event shall not be run by a for profit organization except in rare exceptions authorized by the SIG Governing Board Executive Committee and the SIGCOMM Executive Committee Registration discount for ACM or SIGCOMM members must be equivalent to the member discount offered if any Attendance policies of the meeting e g open invitation only etc must be specified A formal request TMRF must be made for every instance of a recurring event i e approval for a given conference applies only to the single occurrence of the conference for which the TMRF was submitted As required by the ACM meeting organizers must provide within three months of the event a short report to the SIGCOMM EC summarizing the event The report should cover the number of papers submitted the number of papers accepted the number of attendees and an outline of the conference budget It should also contain a brief assessment of the success of the event In addition the following guidelines should be followed to maximize the likelihood of approval The conference subject area should be relevant to some subset of the SIGCOMM community and should not be excessively broad e g conferences covering all aspects of computing are less likely to be approved The conference subject area should not significantly overlap with or duplicate an existing SIGCOMM sponsored event Dates of the event should not conflict with a SIGCOMM sponsored event Interested parties should contact the SIGCOMM EC informally

    additional information and from which the final selection will be made Preliminary site proposals can be just a page or two in length Send proposals via email to the current ACM SIGCOMM Conference Coordinator with the header SIGCOMM site proposal YEAR Site proposals should be submitted by September 15th of two years in advance of the event e g 15 Sep 2014 is the submission deadline for SIGCOMM 2016 Site proposals should address the following three issues A City The city should be located near a major international airport within 1 2 hours of regular train service and or 45 minutes of cab shuttle service A major international airport should have at least two airlines with regular international service to the 4 major continents of SIGCOMM attendees Asia Europe North and South America The city should have one or more venues for over 700 attendees including side venues for 4 6 concurrent tutorials and or workshops of 100 attendees each The venue should support a single center screen or two side by side screens with unobstructed views The venues should include or allow for rental of equipment for Internet connectivity for 700 attendees in the main conference hall The city should have hotels supporting 500 800 people attendees and their guests within easy access less than 15 minutes time preferably at most 1 bus tram to the possible venue The city should have potential venues for a reception and banquet dinner A sample list of possible venues with a 1 line description addressing logistics time to get there need for transportation would be useful Transportation to these events should be less than 30 minutes each way B Conference General Chair Exec Committee Name and affiliation of a widely recognized member of the SIGCOMM community based in or very close to
