    only When a program is cancelled by the Township When a medical reason prevents the registrant from participating Please be advised that the Township reserves the right to require a doctor s note in order to issue a refund In the event that any program trip or activity is cancelled by the Township a full refund will be issued If you have registered and pre paid for a bus trip a full refund will be made as follows If you request a refund 30 days in advance of the trip If your request for a refund is received within 30 days of the trip a refund will be issued only if the Township is able to resell your seat Refunds will not be issued for no shows on the day of a trip In the interest of public safety Springfield Township may cancel a program or activity due to inclement weather If possible the session will be made up at another date If you are unsure if a program or activity has been cancelled please call 215 836 7600 ext 425 for twenty four 24 hour program updates Age Requirements Age requirements for most programs will be as of the date of the first class Age requirements are intended to benefit the development of your children and to make instruction more consistent for the program instructor Please also consider the safety of your child when requesting the Township to reconsider this policy Special Needs Springfield Township encourages persons with Special Needs to participate in all programs and activities If you anticipate needing any type of accommodations or a Program Buddy please contact the Director of Parks and Recreation in advance to discuss your specific needs Turf Treatment Policy The passive recreation areas within all Springfield Township parklands do not receive

    seat is properly installed and will perform as designed in an emergency Inspections are completed for township residents only and an appointment is required Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete the inspection Officer DiSantis can be reached at 215 836 1601 extension 255 to schedule an inspection STOP Program Springfield Township Operation Protect or STOP is a program developed by the Township Police Department to combat automobile theft Interested participants must sign a waiver permitting any law enforcement officer in the United States permission to stop a registered vehicle between the hours of 12 a m and 6 a m Upon signing the waiver the participant is issued a STOP decal to be placed on the rear of the vehicle If the vehicle is observed being operated during the midnight to 6 a m time period the vehicle may be stopped and an investigation conducted to verify positive ownership or authorized operation of the vehicle Although there is no guarantee that a vehicle registered in the program will not be stolen other communities have determined that a vehicle registered in this manner is less likely to be stolen Please contact the Police Department during normal business hours for more information Welcome Wagon Many new residents of Springfield Township have moved from large cities or towns where they did not have an informal interaction with their police officers that exists in Springfield Officers participating in the Welcome Wagon program visit every new homeowner in Springfield Township shortly after the resident moves in The officer provides a comprehensive package of information regarding various Township and Police services available to them The new resident is encouraged to contact that particular officer should any further police services be needed during their period of acclimation Snow Shoveler Registry Township ordinances require that snow

    FAQs Links Traffic Safety Child Seat Inspection State law along with caring common sense requires that children under the age of four be secured in an approved child seat while riding in a vehicle An unsecured child has very little chance of surviving a collision without suffering injury or worse Most parents comply with applicable laws and buckle up their child before a trip However past inspections have revealed that many child safety seats are either unsafe or are used improperly The Springfield Township Police Department has a certified child passenger safety technician who is available to inspect car and booster seats for proper installation Officer Joseph DiSantis has completed an intensive training certification program to ensure that your car or booster seat is properly installed and will perform as designed in an emergency Inspections are completed for township residents only and an appointment is required Please allow at least 30 minutes to complete the inspection Officer DiSantis can be reached at 215 836 1601 extension 255 to schedule an inspection Emergency Contact Information The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has launched a website that is designed to allow Pennsylvania Driver s License and Photo Identification holders the opportunity to easily and immediately upload their emergency contact information to an on line database accessible only to law enforcement and emergency personnel The system was developed to save lives by cutting down on the time needed to locate an emergency contact for individuals who may find themselves involved in a situation that renders themselves unable to communicate In order to participate in this program please visit the PennDOT Driver and Vehicle Services webpage and click on the Emergency Contact and Information button Users will be taken to a secure page where they can enter information for up to two emergency contacts Budget
