Google without breaking the law This morning I finally remembered the title and was able to dig up this YouTube clip There s a lot packed in there but I d like to call out a few items 1 Everyone had ADHD in the 90s You can easily tell the medicated the contestants from the unmedicated the hosts I was kind of worried that the guy in the powder blue blazer was going to talk so fast that he caught fire Maybe we were just really really excited about video games in 1991 2 Pre teens were kept in cages Most visible at the 24 second mark Again something I remembered about the show but was afraid to Google 3 Kids were really bad at shopping sprees So you re covered in velcro and everything around you has a velcro backing on it and you manage to walk away with five games And one of them is Batman Here was my fantasy strategy when I was eight years old knock over all the isle kiosks then just roll around on the floor I remember screaming at the TV when contestants would just grab three copies of Bayou Billy and that s it 4 Poor dude won a Neo Geo He was probably pretty pumped until he went to Toys R Us the next morning and realized his parents would have to mortgage their house in order to afford a game for it 5 Write to me and tell me In five words or more why you should be a contestant I don t think I ve ever seen a minimum on things like this I m not really sure how this could be expressed in less than five words I am good at video games That s six words right

flash Add Comment No Comments Professor Zoom s neck can only be snapped so many times Posted in comics on 05 11 2009 05 22 pm by Zachary Okay okay okay okay Excuse me as I have a major geekgasm Barry Allen the Flash died in 1985 during Crisis on Infinite Earths He saved the entire frickin universe by running so fast that he transcended time and concentrating the entire speed force into a single bolt of lightning which ended up being the same lightning bolt that connected him to the speed force in the first place Very La Jetée right His death was meant to signify the end of Silver Age and the dawn of modern darker stories in comics He s one of the few comic book characters that died and stayed dead Until last year when he popped up during Final Crisis and ended up playing a huge role in the story It was awesome So he s like alive again And last month DC Comics launched a new series Flash Rebirth The first issue wondered Why did Barry Allen come back What is his purpose here What does this signify The last panel of the second issue answered that question And spoiler alert it is awesome I got seriously giddy You can tell because I ran to my laptop and wrote this post I didn t even put pants on first Carry on Tags barry allen black flash blackest night crisis on infinite earths dc comics final crisis the flash Add Comment 2 Comments Scalar Quantity Posted in comics television on 03 27 2009 04 49 pm by Zachary Okay fuck it John Wesley Shipp is the Flash No one else I am in love with this series I m up to disc five of six

and gold coins that came with old Infocom games They were awesome The retail edition of the Path has creepy Polaroids of underage girls And stickers But I m more attracted to the Polaroids I actually got this in January but just remembered that I had it this week while waiting for my soundtrack CD to be delivered This Polish edition is sold out but you can still purchase a similar Russian edition from the Tale of Tales store Tags feelies infocom tale of tales the path Add Comment No Comments the 400th annual Feel Good Games Posted in comics games on 03 07 2010 03 44 pm by Zachary The Lobo ParaMilitary Christmas Special embedded above is a surprisingly well done student film about a very disgusting character Lobo is a crude juvenile figure initially conceived by Keith Giffen to be a parody of Marvel Comics Wolverine who wins the Stresslines Worst Comic Character Fueled By Dew award every year without fail I don t really have a problem with Lobo because he doesn t demand to be taken serious He commits genocide for fun uses nonsensical expletives such as bastich and is very protective of endangered space dolphins He is a symbol of the ridiculous excess of 90s comics It s almost magical This afternoon I was reading old scans of Nintendo Power from Retromags because that s what nerds do when they re drunk in the daytime I was surprised when I stumbled across a Super Nintendo game I wasn t familiar with Lobo Lobo the fighting game staring Lobo the character The reason I had never heard of it is because it was never released Not surprising after reading the full feature Here are high resolution scans of the entire feature one two three four and five It s worth reading for anyone who played fighting games in the 90s as the preview has a moves list that s almost identical to Street Fighter II There s something telling when a six page spread is filled with controller commands instead of gameplay impressions No wonder this never made it onto store shelves But wait there s more After some extensive detective work a single google search I uncovered a ROM of the Sega Genesis version of the game Spoiler it s most certainly a prototype and you re life will be no different if you choose not to play it Tags dc comics keith giffen lobo retro sega genesis Add Comment No Comments Marmalade Cream Sweet In Between Posted in games on 02 22 2010 12 07 pm by Zachary I just ordered my copy of the Korg DS 10 synthesizer from Amazon and a peculiar thing appeared on the recommended items page Jam Sessions 2 This game apparently came out in October but I haven t seen it mentioned on any of the 527 game blogs that I follow in Google Reader There s not even a Wikipedia page for it Honestly the first game
