the car park sadly they were absent from the rest of the day The snow was sticky all day due to the drizzle but since it was white and could be skied we all had fun Goats gully was in much better nick than last weekend and Happy Valley was open Snowy Trails had a good cover except for some tiny patches at the very bottom With the new extension on the Happy Valley T Bar Snowy Trails feels more satisfying to ski The final section continues to the bottom of the valley rather than stopping near the kiosk like it used to Also there were people preparing to open the kiosk a first for at least six years At the midstation we saw the coolest addition to anyone s quiver a Monoski and a pair of stocks with those 80s foot shaped fluoro baskets Blue Cow opened for the first time this winter but I didn t make it over Tony Nicholson told me Perisher had done a great job of snowmaking on Zali s which was in good condition apart from the sticky snow Vivkea skiing down Snowy Trails Happy Valley used to stop at the first pylon

Perisher and I was amazed by the clear blue sky and wonderful dry groomers on centre valley The snow was so good I managed to squeeze in a couple of runs down the Duplex to finish of a great day Wombats Lament from the top of the Blue Calf T Bar Mt Twynam in the Background Lycra and padding before the start of the Slalom Perfect snow by the Duplex Saturday was another 7am start for the Masters Super G and just like last week we got a fantastic sunrise The course was fast and for the first time I started to feel comfortable in the gates with a 1st place out of one competitor in my age group I even got some more freshies before the crowds arrived The previous snowfall on Friday and the clear skies attracted the crowds and each lift at Guthega had 15min long lift lines for almost the whole day The GS was held later in the morning and after the two runs I got another 1st place but I still didn t beat anyone With the freshies almost gone Dave and I had a run down farm creek to polish off another fantastic
