  • Nearly Sixty Acres of Land Protected Along Teton Creek in Driggs, Idaho
in Teton Valley Idaho The Land Trust helped the Rogel family permanently protect 58 acres of land along Teton Creek with a conservation easement The conservation easement is a legal agreement that allows for farming and ranching on the property as well as the construction of one home but permanently restricts any additional future development This conservation easement will permanently protect the stream corridor winter range for elk and mule deer and provide refuge for big game bears songbirds and raptors Gabe and Sara Rogel moved to Teton Valley Idaho eleven years ago After many years of searching they finally found the perfect piece of land in Driggs Admittedly the Rogels did consider subdividing and developing the property in the early stages of ownership However it since became clear that preserving the unique piece of land was what really mattered It was important to protect the creek and natural habitat for wildlife We are proud to know that this great piece of land is protected no matter what may happen in Teton Valley in the future The most rewarding aspect of this process is to know that the land is now protected forever Gabe Rogel explained Gabe Rogel also noted I hope that other landowners see the value in conservation and will follow suit Now is the perfect time to take advantage of preserving this beautiful valley Gabe Rogel also commented that he feels especially proud to have protected land that is located in town As development persists and less open space is available in Driggs it makes us feel good knowing a significant amount of land will remain untouched within the city limits It s wonderful to see land along Teton Creek protected This piece of land contributes vital open space to Teton Valley and expands our protection efforts
