    Texas at Austin s Center for Research in Water Resources CRWR and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center LBJWC are holding a series of FREE LID workshops in eight communities containing local water resources impacted by urban nonpoint source pollution These workshops will familiarize regional stakeholders with LID it s design engineering and development and work with public officials to address code limitations and amendments National LID expert Mr Larry S Coffman will lead the two day event Mr Coffman has over 36 years of experience in urban stormwater management and is considered the nation s foremost expert on LID technologies and programs Mr Coffman was a founder of the LID Center pioneer of Bioretention Rain Gardens and the principle author of the nationally acclaimed Prince George s County Maryland s LID planning and design manuals These workshops will also feature participation from local and regional professionals researchers and water quality practitioners Beginning November 2010 and continuing through April 2011 workshops will be in the Houston Orange Waco Dallas Fort Worth McAllen San Antonio Austin and Corpus Christi regions Houston kicked off the series on November 8 9 2010 hosted by the Harris County Flood Control District and co sponsored
