  • Charity project for the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen’s Home | The Family International
    the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen s Home on Songkran Thai New Year Tristy and Karen sing and dance at the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen s Home for Songkran Sunny and Karen TFI volunteers performing the Songkran Thai New Year ceremony at the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen s Home TFI member Diane with the kids doing a skit at the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen s Home for Songkran We were so happy to have our children invited to perform at the Bahn Bang Kae Home for over 100 Senior Citizens on Songkran which is the Thai New Year This is a special day when everyone around the country visits their families to pay respect to their elders and their ancestors The children performed songs and skits and we showed several power point presentations which the audience greatly enjoyed One of the national TV stations filmed the event and it was aired on television with the 6 o clock news that same day In addition some of our friends sponsored a special lunch for the 100 residents and 22 staff members while other friends donated milk medicine and fruit which we passed out after the program It was

    been making regular visits to Pasi working with YIN our faithful partners in Aceh This project has been an exciting joint venture successful due to a truly cooperative effort Child Development Programmes 10 NICI and TFI Team Event Eighty five employees of NICI Nestle Indofood in Indonesia along with volunteers from TFI visited Pulau Sembilangan to paint the new school building Madrasah Aliyah Thonburi Slum Daycare Center Community Project TFI members Sunny Paul and Mary regularly visit the Thonburi Slum Daycare Center Community Project to assist in the care and education of the young children Charity project at Bahn Tahsalao School TFI members had great fun organizing games and activities for the over 100 school children at Bhan Tahsalao school an under privileged school in Pechaburi province in upcountry Thailand Education 1 Seminar and Book Distribution in Angtong Thailand We were able to contact the director of the largest primary school in Angtong through flood relief work we did a previous year The children come from underprivileged families and often lack in many basic necessities Education and Training 5 The Tools for Schools Sponsorship Programme We have co produced and put together a library of unique character building materials for school children called Tools for Schools Initiatives for Junior School Children Our young people conduct unique interactive and high impact music and theatre programmes highlighting values that we would all like to see in children Character Education for Teenagers Tomorrow s world will be as morally sound as the children of today make it in the future We therefore endeavour to provide them with the input that they need to help them become good human beings We have seen that students will learn best the subjects that they enjoy the most Empowering the Hearing Impaired 1 Deaf Way Project Update Helen Keller Awards In an effort to encourage children from all the schools for the deaf in Delhi to do better academically we instituted the Helen Keller Student Award This annual award is the first of its kind and a significant morale booster to the deserving Homes for the Elderly 2 Charity project for the Bahn Bang Kae Senior Citizen s Home We were so happy to have our children invited to perform at the Bahn Bang Kae Home for over 100 Senior Citizens on Songkran which is the Thai New Year This is a special day when everyone around the country visits their families to pay respect to their elders and their ancestors The Elderly not Forgotten At the Golden Years Home for the Elderly wheelchairs formed neat rows in the courtyard a resident in each one and a look of anticipation on each weathered face Hospital Visitation 1 From Japan With Love It s wonderful to have you back The head doctor s assistant at the Phnom Penh Pediatrics Hospital gushed with enthusiasm as he led us from the parking lot to the main building We can t wait to see the show Outreach Youth Outreach 2 A

    past four years we have been assisting the authorities at Jilava Penitentiary Some highlights for the last two years are In 2007 Easter program for 150 prisoners We sang songs and read portions from the Activated magazine which we later distributed to all More on Children s shows Many orphanages and families send their children to special resorts camps and sanatoriums during summer 2007 Articles 3 Saint Nicolas Comes to Town During a conversation with one of our local friends he mentioned St Nicolas Day December 19th in the Ukraine and the more we talked about it the more we realized that this was a terrific opportunity to meet and minister to people Christmas Sunshine Sonce v Srcu Sun in the Heart is a registered Family International volunteer project More on helping the poor and needy Throughout the year of 2006 we spent approximately 1 200 man hours soliciting charitable aid from local businesses picking up donated products and personally distributing the items to those in need 2006 Articles 6 Behind Green Gates We have been assisting the local charity Rescue Foundation in their work with prisoners in the maximum security penitentiary of Aiud a city near Cluj a prison with over 1 000 men and women prisoners It is an incredible feeling one has upon entering the three sets of huge green gates Highlights of Our Prison Ministry Some highlights of our prison ministry A Christmas show in the men s section Celebrating Valentine s Day in the women s section For this occasion we prepare songs some reading material cards and gifts for the women Celebrating Mother s Day in the women s section Summer Camps We held two volunteer training camps for 18 attendees during the months of July and August Each of the camps lasted one

    and hope and putting this message into action in Albania since 1995 Our members have provided aid for the disadvantaged through a variety of programs providing humanitarian assistance medical aid food and clothing for the underprivileged visitation programs at hospitals orphanages and child institutions Volunteers have strived to meet the need by providing counsel and support to young and old alike helping them in their hour of need Project highlights Our photo album Stories articles Project Highlights Humanitarian Aid Albania The Family International has delivered 4000 kilos of humanitarian aid consisting of winter clothes shoes and food to needy families In cooperation with the German charity Care in Action we arranged the transportation of these goods from Germany to Albania During a one month period our volunteers were involved in house to house distribution to approximately 200 families as well as staging a series of lively shows for about 250 poor children in the area Community Leadership Course Albania We hold Christian leadership training courses that provide the students with the opportunity to participate in projects where they learn to formulate plans and follow through on them This practical training has provided assistance with developing skills in teamworking communication efficiency

    Stories articles Project Highlights Aid to Refugees Since 1998 we have been assisting needy refugee families affected by the war in the former Yugoslavia in the surrounding areas of Karlovac near the Bosnian border in Croatia and Rijeka We offer these families comfort and counseling and have delivered over 300 kilos of humanitarian aid to the 400 residents in Camp Gaza in Karlovac We also regularly visit two schools with nearly 500 children most of whom are refugees and organize fun and educational activities for the children Stories articles Photo album Entertainment with meaning We perform meaningful programs for over 10 institutions mostly kindergartens schools centers for the handicapped refugee camps and senior citizens homes to a total audience of 700 or more All of our shows adapted to the occasion give the message of God s love and of helping others in need instead of concentrating on one s misfortunes in life We don t just put on a show and leave but spend time with the attendees after the show in order to meet them personally and to comfort and encourage them Stories articles Photo album Seminars We hold Christian leadership training courses and teach Bible classes as well as organize a weekly Friends Day every Sunday where people are welcome to visit us to talk share their hearts receive counsel and prayer and have a time of spiritual retreat and renewal from their daily struggles We have also hosted seminars on clown therapy volunteer work and parenting Stories articles Photo album Youth Ministry This project consists of not only performing for young people but also offering them a listening ear a helping hand friendly advice or just letting them know that somebody cares for them We regularly visit the local association Terra where youth affected by drug
