    by the Franciscan Friars TOR Province of the Immaculate Conception as a concrete response to the signs of the times concerning the environmental crisis The project aims to spread the vision of St Francis of Assisi who regarded all creatures as sister and brother by sharing our land and spiritual heritage with the larger community To this end the Friars have opened the beautiful property of St Bernardine s Monastery to community gardening and Care 4 Creation programming that focuses on sustainability and cultivating a spirituality inclusive of creation The friars have enjoyed the opportunities to build community share with the less fortunate and have fun Mission of the Care for Creation Project The Care for Creation C4C project provides to the public quality land for green produce production and offers presentations on environmental sustainability to develop a spiritually inclusive of creation while cultivating community through seasonal events and donating surplus produce to the poor Goals of the C4C Project Promote environmental sustainability Offer environmental education Build community Monastery Community Gardens and the Care for Creation Project announce its Spring Gardening How to series to be presented at 6 30 PM every Wednesday evening in March at the Care for Creation Center on Monastery Road off Route 36 Hollidaysburg These classes are taught by Penn State Master Gardeners and are open to the public free of charge The Franciscan Friars sponsor these educational opportunities to promote Care for Creation C4C and to strengthen ties with local communities For more information about this initiative contact Brother John Kerr TOR through our development office at 814 695 3802 Reservations are not required but would be helpful Check back to this website to receive up dates and to preview the 2014 Class topics click link Syndicate Spiritual Enrollments Masses About Us Our Ministries
