  • The Peacemaker Program is Hiring!
    and electronic communications Microsoft Windows Word Outlook and Excel a must Excellent oral and written communication skills including phone and e mail communication The ability to multi task The ability to maintain and enforce strict confidentiality Responsibilities Case Supervision and Management Community Mediation Screen program referrals from various referral sources for appropriateness for mediation to include issues of violence child abuse and neglect If case is determined to be inappropriate for mediation advise the clients and or referring sources as to the reason Provide assistance and reference to clients and or referring sources to appropriate services as needed or requested Schedule cases for mediation promptly and as expediently as possible Ensure volunteers assigned to mediation cases are qualified for the type of mediation being requested Enters required data into the DRCMS data base When certified conducts mediations as required when other mediators are not available Office Management Greet clients and volunteers as they enter the agency Provide primary phone coverage for the agency Supervision of Volunteers Assists with recruitment screening management training and retention of volunteers Provides supervision which is appropriate to the volunteer s needs and complexity of the case assignment and holds volunteers accountable for the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities Provides technical assistance guidance support and information to volunteers Identifies and validates efforts made by volunteers Reports Assures that mediation agreements are prepared and submitted to clients and that all associated paperwork is complete and accurate Reviews and edits the reports of Advocates prior to submission to court Accurately tracks data on cases volunteers or other required information for monthly quarterly and annual reports according to funding agreements or direction of agency supervision Maintains volunteer and case files Planning and Evaluation Assist in the development of long and short range program goals Assists with the development of public relations efforts and activities Assists with program evaluation accomplishments problems and needs within the counties All Peacemaker Program Inc Staff will be response for Promoting the Peacemaker Program Inc in general and your position within the community This includes conducting public presentations Participate in agency events including staff team meetings recognition events fund raising activities and other events as required Carry out all objectives as outlined by funding sources generate reports consistent with funding and or per the direction of the Executive Director Work collaboratively and maintain open communication with co workers wherever and whenever possible Work collaboratively and proactively to resolve workplace conflict in an appropriate professional manner in accordance with agency policy Work collaboratively with other staff to answer phones and cover staffing needs Participate in professional development when appropriate Remain current on information issues and research relevant to the position Uphold confidentiality in regards to clients documents and the agency with the utmost integrity Abide by the guidelines of the employee manual Have access to reliable transportation and required travel with Oneida and Madison Counties relating to primary job responsibilities and to other locations within the state for training or other events Must be willing

    school home and beyond Interested parties should complete our Volunteer Application as soon as possible as an interview is required and seats in the training are sharply limited Please contact us if you have any questions So Long Farewell The Peacemaker Program family has had to say goodbye to two of our most beloved staff Ronde S Brown and Steve Robinson Ronde has chosen to enter retirement after a career dedicated to dispute resolution that predates The Peacemaker Program itself She looks forward to the opportunity to spend more time with her children and grandchildren Her duties are largely taken up by Melissa Hillage see article at right though no one can ever truly replace Ronde After years of dedicated service Steve has led the agency through difficult times to a place of calm and confidence He is looking to return to his roots in the American South where he can bring his ADR skills to law enforcement and be closer to family and friends His not inconsiderable shoes will be filled for now by Mark W Leuthauser We wish both Ronde and Steve all the best and want them to know that they will be missed Meet the New Hire Melissa Hillage has joined The Peacemaker Program as the Family Services Coordinator Melissa s purview will include a variety of family mediation services including Custody Visitation Child Support Divorce Separation and Elder Mediation as well as administering the Child Custody Advocate Program Melissa is already familiar to our staff and many of our volunteers having served with us during an internship as part of her ongoing education She brings skill compassion and enthusiasm to the job and we count ourselves lucky to have her New Training Contract CONT ACT Community Services has hired The Peacemaker Program to provide mediation training to their staff Based in Syracuse CONT ACT provides a wide variety of services to the local school district and seeks to supplement their staff s excellent skill set with Dispute Resolution techniques The training will take place over the summer and fall Did You Know The Peacemaker Program offers Challenge Programs for groups of all shapes sizes and ages Whether for team building staff retreats or teaching pro social skills these collections of games activities and discussion are ideal and affordable Click here for more information Conflict B u Z z Not all mediation is created equal When mediation isn t voluntary confidential safe neutral and empowering then it really isn t mediation at all Check out this interesting article on Mediate com for an example Conflict Tip Only a fraction of our communication happens through the words we speak the rest is delivered through body language and tone of voice If you re anticipating a difficult conversation put as much time and effort into choosing those as you would carefully choosing your words You ll be glad you did The Peacemaker Program Inc provides a continuum of services including skill development dispute resolution programs and child advocacy
