    in New Hartford We are still looking for a few talented members of the community to submit designs for this event in March It is a unique and fun event Plan on attending even if you don t design a table Tickets to the Premier Party on Friday night are 60 each For larger groups a Premier Party Six Pack is available for 300 Admission for the Main Event on Saturday is 5 and tickets are available at the door Conflict Consultation Services Whether your business has 5 employees or 5oo Peacemaker can develop a customized Conflict Resolution training program to meet your company s individual needs To date we have led seminar trainings at several area agencies and organizations Maybe you know some Utica Police Department 90 Second Solutions Oneida Lewis ARC Conflict in the Classroom House of the Good Shepherd Basic Mediation and Facilitator Training House of the Good Shepherd 90 Second Solutions New York State Unified Court System Distinct Personality Types in Mediation New York State Community Action Agency Conflict in the Workplace Mohawk Valley Community College 90 Second Solutions SUNY Cobleskill Challenge by Choice Adventure Games Mohawk Valley Housing Authority 90 Second Solutions Our Lady of the Rosary Challenge by Choice Adventure Games Association for Conflict Resolution National Conference Developing Conflict Resolution Training for Youth Programs Mohawk Valley Association for Human Resource Management Bullying in the Workplace NYSUT Conflict Creatures Our New Look The Peacemaker Program has a new look The Board of Directors is taking Peacemaker in a forward direction by modernizing our logo and making it more meaningful and recognizable We are entering a new era within the organization The Peacemaker Program continues to diversify its funding sources in order to keep on providing services to our community at low or no cost This includes expanding our expert Conflict Consultation Services which are offered to other agencies businesses and schools for a fee Our new tag line Proven Conflict Solutions is an outcome based phrase that perfectly exemplifies the future focus of The Peacemaker Program It helps to explain in a simple slogan what the program is about to someone who knows nothing about us Welcome Aboard Lisa DesGrosielliers first joined our staff in 2007 and served for years as the ADR Assistant After a brief absence Lisa is proud to be working as the CASA CCAP Coordinator Lisa says I like the idea of working independently and being empowered by the courts and knowing that I can make a difference for a child in foster care When I get a case I know I will be the one consistent adult in this child s life vigilantly fighting for and protecting their fundamental right to be treated with the dignity and respect every child deserves I enjoy taking a case and seeing it all the way through And in doing so I enrich my life as well We welcome Julie Falatico to the office as our mediation and advocacy assistant Julie is a trained

    hope to see you there Cast Crew Ronde Brown is our Senior Family Services Coordinator and heads up our Family Mediation Program Ronde graduated from West Winfield Central School now known as Mount Markham Central School and is also a Phi Theta Kappa graduate in Paralegal Studies from Herkimer County Community College She has been helping children families and the community through mediation services since 1993 Ronde says Our Family Mediation Program offers the opportunity for responsible adults to create a Custody Visitation and or Support Plan for the children in their care that they believe would provide the most consistency and stability for all I ve been asked countless times Why have you continued being a family mediator for the past 18 years My general answer Because I love what I do The general response to me is Why do you love it My response is I think I was always destined to become one Being the second child of seven children and having only one of five brothers being older than myself started to prepare me for family conflicts Add to that my father had thirteen sisters and their families From there life continued to introduce a vast array of conflicts that I had never imagined growing up as a child My first introduction to Dispute Resolution was in 1993 and my response then was This is everything I believe in And it still is Thank you to our past CTTT Sponsors We couldn t do it wit hout you A Moveable Feast By O Connor s Adirondack Bank Bank of Utica CBB Realty Clinton Moving CNY Open House Dean L Gordon Erin Gall Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield Gilroy Kernan and Gilroy Harts Hill Inn Holland Farms Joanne Fanelli Image Group Kalil Eisenhut LLC Matthew Ossowski Murad Murad Nicolas Jewelers Observer Dispatch Park Outdoor PMP Board of Directors Ralph DiNicola Photography Roser Communications Sodexo The Fountainhead Group The Hartford Utica General WKTV D id U K now that you can find Peacemaker on Facebook that The Peacemaker Program offers large group facilitation for your own company s strategic planning needs Why do all the work yourself During mediation a neutral third party assists the participants in the reaching a voluntary mutually beneficial resolution Mediation can resolve all issues important to the parties not just the issues that seemed apparent Peacemaker Leading the Way Gone are the days of federally funded not for profits depending solely on your tax dollars and a few fund raisers to keep their agency solvent When it comes to funding today s not for profits need to be forward thinking and forward moving Peacemaker is leading the way Steve Robinson has declared 2012 to be the Year of Fee for Service advancing Peacemaker to the next level of sustainability in a difficult economy We are taking Peacemaker from an agency that is mostly funded by outside sources fund raisers and grants to an agency that offers valuable unique conflict resolution and strategic management

    and both of my daughters live there Some of the places she haunts for deals are TJ Maxx Marshalls The Christmas Tree Shop and Pier One She is always looking for a good price Sue a Mohawk Valley native would tell any would be table designer That it s not as hard as it looks You just need to get inspired I have helped many people get their feet wet and once they get going they love it It is great if you can find someone to help and or sponsor your table I am fortunate to have Tony Scibelli as my sponsor I do the designing and he funds everything Cindy Roth has designed 15 or more tables for Come To The Table That is impressive creativity and dedication She has won many Judges awards 2005 Judges Choice Wok this Way 2006 Judges Choice Cha Cha Cha 2009 Most Elegant Golden Holiday 2010 Most Artistic Birds of a Feather Dine Together co designer with Susan Gustafson and Susan Warwick 2011 Best Holiday Theme Dashing Through the Snow co designer with Lisa Longeretta Wow That is quite a list of design accomplishments Cindy first found out about the event from Christine Kiesel who was a board member of The Peacemaker Program Her familiarity with mediation has increased through her job at the Court House Cindy stays committed to Come To The Table because Year after year it is a rewarding challenge that allows me to pursue the secret designer inside while supporting an organization and cause I strongly believe in Living in the Mohawk Valley for 24 years Cindy likes to spend time with her family and friends and calls her design style eclectic She keeps her eyes open all year for inspiration and shops anywhere she can Inspiration can

    clearance Criminal history background check Interviews for prospective CASA volunteers will be May 14 thru the 25 In house training is scheduled for Mondays June 4 11 18 and 25 at 5 PM to 8 30 PM 25 fee for material costs Please go to our website to fill out the application Come To The Table Our 8th annual Come To The Table fund raiser was held March 9 th at Harts Hill Inn in Whitesboro NY Three hundred people attended the two day event and helped Peacemaker raise over 13 000 00 Steve Robinson Come To The Table was a great success This fundraiser is very important to The Peacemaker Program as a whole The money raised goes directly back into our various advocacy and dispute resolution programs and goes a long way to helping us serve over 2 000 individuals each year Come To The Table could not happen without the tireless help of our volunteers and table designers who spend hundreds of hours to ensure this event is spectacular fun and entertaining I can never thank them enough Want to see more S H H ou T o U T Beverly Quist the President of the Board of Directors of The Peacemaker Program Inc retired from her long held position as a professor of Criminal Justice at Mohawk Valley Community College She is also a member of many justice related associations and causes including the Justice Studies Association and the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley Beverly recently received The Vanguard Award from the Justice Studies Association JSA is an international not for profit membership association established in 1998 to foster writing and research about the practice of and activism for justice without violence We look forward to many more years of working with this most amazing woman

    impactful work has been performed at Donovan Middle School in Utica where she runs an after school anger management group open to all students which helps children learn how to handle the very normal emotion of anger in ways that lead to positive solutions By teaching a child at age 12 how to be a more peaceful person our community becomes a more peaceful place for years to come Maria has been a driving force for the long term Young Scholars mentoring program that has given many students a connection not only to their mentor but to their community She further strengthens that connection by supporting the students involvement in community service activities Maria teaches by example working with the students at community service events providing transportation and making sure all feel welcome and comfortable in new and often strange environments All of her actions have a life long influence on the students and their families A connection to community skills to work toward positive and peaceful outcomes all given by an honest caring and kind person Our community is a better place because we have Maria CASA The Peacemaker Program welcomes Ruth Concepcion as a new CASA volunteer Thanks Ruth these kids need people like you We are please and proud to announce that through the diligent efforts of our CASA Advocates two more children have been adopted and now have safe permanent and loving home If you would like to know more about the Court Appointed Special Advocate program visit our website CASA of Oneida and Herkimer Counties is accepting money donations or crayons coloring books board games arts and craft items gift cards or make up to gift to children and families who are in the adoption process We have thus far 12 families that have adopted
