    Yard Tree Planting and Care Street Tree Care Tree Keepers Resources Tree Benefits Success Stories Get Involved Social Stream Blog Contact Back to Posts Next Post Previous Post August 9 2013 Yard Trees in Action We recently received an update from one of our TreePhilly Yard Tree Program participants Elsie Stevens President of the Holme Circle Civic Association said attached are photos of the Spring 2013 TreePhilly program trees that members of the Holme Circle Civic Association planted in the Old Crispin Cemetery a k a Thomas Holme Cemetery in the 3000 block of Holme Avenue at Convent Road Northeast Philadelphia We have transformed a trash and weed infested cemetery with fallen trees into one which is an asset to our neighborhood with newly planted trees shrubs and flowers thank you for making this program available to us Elsie has been watering the trees during this hot summer with jugs of water that she brings to the site in her car and the entire project has been made possible with volunteer labor and donated materials What an incredible feat and a dedicated group of people Registration for the Fall 2013 Yard Tree Program will open on September 18th check back

    Tree Care Yard Tree Planting and Care Street Tree Care Tree Keepers Resources Tree Benefits Success Stories Get Involved Social Stream Blog Contact Back to Posts Next Post Previous Post June 7 2013 TreePhilly Yard Tree Program for Tree Tenders Groups In Fall 2013 TreePhilly is partnering with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society s Tree Tenders Program to offer free bare root yard trees for Tree Tenders community plantings This is an exclusive opportunity for recognized Tree Tenders groups only see below to find out how you can start your own Tree Tenders group Tree Tenders can use this opportunity to organize yard tree plantings for residential properties community facilities or faith based institutions in their community Register to participate in the program here After each Tree Tender group applies to the program TreePhilly staff will send the group leader individual property owner request forms and a spreadsheet that the Tree Tenders group will submit to TreePhilly with their final order The bare root yard trees will be distributed along with the bare root street trees on Nov 18 th for large Tree Tenders fall plantings on Nov 22 nd or 23 rd Not a Tree Tenders Group Yet You can organize your community to start a Tree Tenders group and take advantage of tree planting opportunities like this and more The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society s Tree Tenders program offers hands on tree care training in the five county Philadelphia region The training covers tree biology identification planting proper care and working within your community The next training will be held at PHS 100 N 20 th St 5 th Floor Philadelphia PA on Wednesdays October 2 9 and 16 from 5 45 8 45pm Click here to find out more about becoming a Tree Tender Nina Safavi from the Pennsylvania
