    World to have been included in the repertoire of the State Opera and Ballet of the Republic of Turkey and the Yunus Emre Oratorio by Adnan Saygun the famous Turkish composer of contemporary classical music performed in Turkey as well as in the United States of America with the contribution of 200 artists from 9 countries including the American Jonathan Griffith Singers Choir are just a few wide scope artistic projects carried out by TURKSOY in the recent past As part of its activities to pay tribute to illustrious personalities of the Turkic World TURKSOY also dedicates every year to the commemoration of artists authors poets and scholars in recognition of their valuable contribution to Turkic culture In line with its innovative approach to the promotion of Turkic culture on a global scale TURKSOY declares one city of the Turkic World as its cultural capital every year Thus the recent Cultural Capitals of the Turkic World were Astana in 2012 followed by Eskisehir in 2013 Kazan in 2014 and Merv Turkmenistan in 2015 Sister organizations which TURKSOY Works in coordination with are the Turkic Council the Turkic Academy and the Foundation of Turkic Culture and Heritage Besides TURKSOY also carries out cooperation activities with international organizations such as the UNESCO ISESCO and the International Foundation of Humanitarian Cooperation of the Commonwealth of Independent States CIS The Headquarters of TURKSOY is the meeting point of artists intellectuals and scholars of the Turkic World What is the mission statement of TURKSOY TURKSOY carries out activities to strengthen the ties of brothehood and solidarity among Turkic peoples with a view to transmitting their common cultural heritage to future generations and promoting it around the world When was TURKSOY established The International Organization of Turkic Culture was established in 1993 upon signature of its founding agreement by the Ministers of Culture of Azerbaijan Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan Turkmenistan and Turkey Which countries are members of TURKSOY TURKSOY gathers 14 member countries 6 of which are founding members while the remaining 8 member countries hold an observer status within the organization Click on the following link to view the list of TURKSOY member countries TURKSOY member countries Where does the acronym TURKSOY come from TURKSOY was initially established as the Common Administration of Turkic Culture and Arts i e Türk Kültür ve Sanatları Ortak Yönetimi in Turkish language and was later on renamed as International Organization of Turkic Culture Its acronym nevertheless remained the same TURKSOY How is the budget of TURKSOY put together TURKSOY s budget is composed of contributions payed by the ministries of culture of its member countries Besides this budget various events carried out by TURKSOY are financed through additional resources provided by local governments universities and NGOs Which actvities and events are traditionally carried out by TURKSOY every year Nevruz celebrations are the most important traditional events carried out by TURKSOY Besides these celebrations TURKSOY also organizes various gatherings of artists bringing together photographers painters opera singers poets journalists theatre dance

  • Prof. Dusen KASEINOV :: TURKSOY
    Kaseinov who started studying at the Tattimbet High School of Music in 1961 pursued his studies at the Kurmangazy State Institute of Fine Arts between 1965 1970 Prof Kaseinov who also worked as a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Kazak Radio and Television in Almaty Kazakhstan while he was still a student pursued his professional career as an instructor at the Moscow P I Tchaikovsky Conservatory Between 1972 1978 he assumed the duty of Chief Instructor at the Kurmangazy State Conservatory of Almaty After having worked as a member of the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra for three years Prof Kaseinov returned to Kazakhstan where he assumed the function of Chair of the Department of Violin of the Kurmangazy State Conservatory of Almaty which he was the Rector of until 1997 In 1997 Prof Dusen Kaseinov was appointed Chairman of the Culture Committee and Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Following his appointment as Minister of Culture of Kazakhstan in 2003 Prof Kaseinov worked as Special Duty Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan between 2004 2005 Having pursued his professional career as Special Representative of the
