over here at how I m working Did you forget how I did this Look back at how far things have come in two years Just keep going Your conversations relationships time energy and prayers are glorifying me and I am the one who will move and work in the hearts of those around you And Some of it you will see and some of it you won t but seeing isn t believing Before Jason and I left to firmly put our feet on Utah soil my dad Jules Glanzer who knows a thing or two about church planting told us The highs will be really high and the lows will be really low That couldn t be more true A year into our lives here I shared with him how I related to the Psalms more now than ever with the extreme emotions of highs and lows Within a few months I received one of the best gifts of my life in the mail from my dad his tattered torn rubber banded book of Psalms the same one he read and reread recorded notes in and took with him everywhere when my parents were church planting in Houston many years ago It has encouraged me in amazing ways to see the journey of faith my parents took a journey that in some ways parallels our own experiences The truth is that God is working He has been beyond faithful and sometimes when we are tired from the labor God reminds us He is the one we are to draw our strength from and He will continue the laboring even when we need to catch our breath Nicole and Jason Quiring are church planters for The Greenhouse Saratoga Springs Utah Nicole s parents Jules and Peg Glanzer were church planters before moving to Hillsboro Kan where Jules serves as president of Tabor College the Mennonite Brethren liberal arts college headquartered there Leave a comment Comment Name E mail Post 0 Comments The truth about church planting Monday Aug 10 2015 By Nicole Quiring The truth is some days are flat out hard Some days are discouraging Some days we want to see more happen and some days we miss what is happening Some months we intend to write our prayer newsletter but it just doesn t happen Either the days get busy or we experience writer s block or we think How can we really convey what goes on here day to day So we write nothing Sometimes a flexible schedule means absolute chaos Sometimes we want to be honest and say in a newsletter We need more families Not long ago my husband Jason made an honest statement Sometimes I just wish we were a church where we could just afford to go hire someone to do such and such That s the truth about church planting Sometimes it s just a lot of work for our family and our relationship But then just when we feel that
