    future Dedication Carry the name of your family in perpetuity in a specific area of the Garden such as The Palm Walk or a feature such as a bridge or trail Dedicate a trail or feature starting at 5 000 US We welcome gifts from your estate to sustain our gardens into the future For more information email info vbgardens org Memorial Package Basic Ash Scattering Ceremony Memorial Package After the memorial ceremony some of the ashes are deposited under a 30 30 cm 12 12 inch hand painted memorial tile which is placed in the Hacienda de Oro Visitor Center Included is a reception for up to 20 Ceremony We offer spiritual or interfaith religious services that meet the needs of a variety of beliefs and traditions Your memorial ceremony may be held in any of the following areas the Hall of Flowers in the Hacienda de Oro on the banks of the Rio Horcones or in the shade of the Giant Ficus Tree Ashes are traditionally scattered from any of the following inspirational settings the Shade of the Giant Ficus the banks of the Rio Horcones the Cerro de Águila Eagle Hill or the Tree Fern Grotto Family and friends often reserve some ashes for the memorial in the garden which can range from a single hand painted tile to a cantera bench or memorial stone with a cross or statue Tree of Life Package Green Burial Ceremony Tree of Life Package Many people chose to memorialize their loved ones with a living tree In our Green Burial Ceremony we inter the ashes along with the planting of a tree that will receive the same loving care as the rest of our prized collections in the Garden Friends and family are encouraged to visit and watch this Tree of Life grow Native trees that we recommend for our grounds include Amapas Primavera Oak and Pine Each tree is designated with a memorial tile on a concrete base The Garden of Memories Description Create a sacred place within the Garden of Memories to honor and memorialize a loved one departed Starting at 3 000 USD a variety of memorial markers are available Memorial services can also be arranged With the same considerations and elegance as our other packages this option includes a carved cantera symbol or statue placed on a pedestal in the Garden of Memories in the shadow of the Cerro de Águila Eagle Hill The pedestals may be ornamented in tiles including hand painted tiles A basic cross Star of David or other standard religious symbol on a pedestal with one hand painted tile costs 3 000 USD A number of differently sized and shaped memorial stones are available and additional tiles can be placed Please consult with us for a custom memorial stone package if you prefer this option See our Brochure for more information Call or email Michaela Flores at 52 322 223 6182 info vbgardens org The Ceremony Services Ceremonies We offer spiritual or

    with our volunteer coordinator by emailing educadorambiental vbgardens org with your availability and the type of work you would like to do What do garden volunteers do Garden Volunteers take on a variety of different duties and projects at the Garden Horticulture Propagating plants in the nurseries planting weeding preparing cuttings Education Guiding tours teaching classes or workshops at the Gardens or local schools Conservation Assisting in reforestation and environmental protection Representing the Garden at external venues and or events Promoting the Gardens its projects events onsite or with local businesses and organizations Landscaping trail work and construction Administrative work including membership services and record keeping Some valuable volunteer work can be done from the comfort of your own home Writing Volunteers may always submit articles pictures or poems to our newsletter The Leaflet Volunteers practiced in writing grant applications can assist us in that capacity Translating We always have a pile of documents to translate many of which are directly linked to public education and serving our visitors Many more opportunities are possible Put your skills and talents to work here by finding or dreaming up projects that take merit your abilities or learn new skills by trying something different Learn the needs of the Garden and communicate how you can help out the most while making your experience here your reward Volunteers who wish to contribute generously to the Gardens from their personal finances family trusts or commit to fundraising for the Gardens in the local or international communities may consider applying for service on a Garden committee working in conjunction with the Executive Director and members of the Garden s Board of Directors Committee service is a pathway to consideration in joining the Garden s Board of Directors Board Membership is a serious commitment An often repeated quote within non profits is Of work wealth and wisdom a board member should contribute at least two Volunteers who are interested in serving on a committee should have a personal conversation with the Garden s Curator or Executive Director Volunteer policies Volunteers commit to a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service per year Minimal service per day is 5 hours during regular Garden hours Volunteers will check in with the volunteer coordinator or if unavailable another Garden manager upon arrival to the Gardens Before leaving the Gardens volunteers will log their hours of service at the Volunteer Coordinator s desk before they leave If a volunteer cannot make it to a scheduled volunteer commitment that volunteer will send an email to the Volunteer Coordinator and the volunteer email list requesting coverage with as much advanced notice as possible If it is a last minute emergency please also call the Gardens directly Volunteers act in accordance with the Garden s mission and represent the Garden professionally and courteously at all times Dependent on the Garden s budget volunteers are invited to complimentarily join the staff breakfast at 10 00 am and lunch at 3 00 pm each day they
