    Federation Members Volunteers What can you do for local mountain biking International Mountain Biking Association IMBA has been in the process of developing a Regional Leadership Advisory Council RLAC for the northwest area I am part of the committee development team for the NW RLAC If you would like to become more involved at a regional level with mountain biking and trail advocacy this is your opportunity The NW RLAC will be made up of 10 15 people from the Northwest OR WA ID NV who are well connected to the mountain bike community We will need leadership from individuals that are adept in at least one of a variety of fields including but not limited to accounting finance graphic design community based fund raising grant based fund raising business technology marketing PR law leadership development advocacy leadership political advocacy events based advocacy and project management We are looking for men women land managers bike industry folk advocates weekend warriors you name it The goal is to create a diverse group both regionally and experientially Specific goals will be set by the RLAC in facilitated planning sessions but there are three broad goals o Build Club Capacity o Create Critical Mass o Expand Mountain Bikers influence on public policy Steps taken to achieve these goals may include club training sessions the creation of a regional information clearinghouse events marketing hiring paid staff or a variety of other resources as determined by the RLAC Our local club W T F as well as other regional clubs will benefit from this program by having a more readily available advisor and group of resources to help us achieve our goals and ultimately build more trails Having someone from our club and or our region will ensure that our concerns and unique challenges are

    Trail Guidelines Northshore Inspection Checklist Freeride Build Guide 3D feature models Photo Gallery About Contact Us Files Events No events Excalibur DH trail it begins Trail Building Written by Administrator Thursday 02 July 2009 04 42 Volunteer Trail Builders concept for DH trails on Larch Mountain Tillamook State Forest Click image for larger view also see Message Board thread below for other views W T F volunteer trail builders will be talking thru this with ODF on Monday Getting a real timeline for when we could begin digging will be top of the list of issues to get real answers about More than several years of dialog has happened already between volunteer builders and ODF recreation managers and good amount of time has been spent on educating about what we want and why it makes sense We re past the milestone where ODF managers have bought in to the concept we re no longer talking about what we want and why we re now talking about when and how This is still in planning phase but taking time to collaborate with the land manager is now expected to have payoffs just like pushing up that mountain it s now time to really get the race face on and commit to the line visualize it do what needs done and put this thing on the ground I cannot say much more until we meet with ODF and outline what the next steps are Forgive me for I will continue being pessimistic We have had favorable news from ODF in the past which turned out to be false alarms Will keep fighting admist the good news until we have that first build day The next step is having Ryan K Wayne N Joe R and I meet with ODF staff and understand
