    planning a shuttlable DH FR trail network in the mountain biking zone 1 project area This remains W T F s primary goal The brakes are on but we re doing what we can 5 years are behind this effort so far Ryan McLane president of W T F continues as project manager of this effort go Ryan you kan du it Last word from ODF We will continue to talk after figuring out staff funding Meanwhile there s a well planned out well designed phased approach to development of DH FR network which is approaching shovel ready status thanks to volunteer work by W T F W T F remains confident we can reach a compromise as we demonstrate that the mountain biking community is lacking facilities on the Westside of Portland for DH FR and represent a not insignificant volunteer labor resource pool It s a lack of management resources and administration funding that is tying ODF s hands at this point How you can help Wish we knew Don t loose patience Got sick grant writing skills Or a billionare uncle Money and lack of management administration capacity appears to be gap here L L Stub Stewart State Park mountain biking specific zone building single track 4 build days done 4 to go for phase 1 4 years of work to go to complete the entire Vision including skill area trails Continuing to collaborate with other local groups to maintain trails Mountain biking specific zone of park is NOT yet open to the public Visit http snurl com gy44z for April 2009 progress overview map We have roughly half of single track for phase 1 trail loop completed the remaining half expected to be completed with help from you by June 6th Update from OPRD trails manager
