    Review and evaluate existing programs services policies and procedures including the museum s Emergency and Disaster Preparedness Plans Conduct daily inspection of facility and grounds to ensure the high museum standards of appearance cleanliness and readiness are met Function as contact for facilities emergencies and be accessible after hours Administer and direct security policies and manage security systems Provides training to all museum staff regarding emergencies and facility use Manage the building access control relevant to the art museum profession Recruit select train develop and supervise members of the museum security staff Meet with city officials museum board and committees and community groups as needed to initiate projects maintain safety build positive relationships and facilitate the operation of the Wichita Art Museum as a responsible member of the community These examples are not intended to be all inclusive Other job related duties may be assigned as needed Qualifications Bachelor s Degree preferred A minimum of three years of relevant experience required Previous experience in a museum zoo and not for profit sector is a plus Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications Familiar with basic building code and life safety regulations Proficient with standard office software applications including Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word Proven experience identifying and communicating complex problems Proven ability working with outside vendors and contractors Proven ability to work closely in interdepartmental teams and manage the safe completion of projects which have large impact on the basic functions of the institution Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions often under pressure Ability to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement the best solution s in a timely manner Strong negotiation skills with an ability to persuade build consensus and gain cooperation from others to obtain information and accomplish organizational goals Strong organizational skills Requirements of Work Thorough knowledge of the functions and needs of operation management Knowledge of budget administration and forecasting Ability to plan organize and supervise the work of others Ability to develop and coordinate plans for daily operations and contingencies Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates representatives of outside organizations and the public Ability to supervise motivate and counsel employees Knowledge of electronic security system operations Ability to monitor areas by video display monitor Ability to exercise good judgment in handling emergency situations and or unruly individuals Ability to notice and report hazardous and unusual situations Ability to develop and maintain physical alertness and reliability Ability to run and move about quickly Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 60 pounds up to 20 feet approximately three times per day Ability to push carts with 60 pounds resistance up to 50 feet while walking approximately three times per day Ability to bend twist turn and reach as needed to perform normal job tasks Ability to use hands and wrists for turning grasping gripping pinching and finger manipulation as needed to perform normal job tasks Ability
