    number of weeks learning centres are open 24 7 COMPLETED With the help of Director of Academic Support I was able to lead a 2 month campaign in regards to 24 7 library After listening carefully to the needs of student Habiba Academic VP and I worked together along with SU staff to put together a business case to lobby the University in providing this additional service The library is now open 24 7 from 2nd November May 2016 24 7 library will be available every academic year for students to make the most of it This is a massive win for the Students Union Highlight the attainment gap and work to reduce it IN PROGRESS There should be no attainment gap between students and I want to develop the work carried out previously to help reduce it I am currently working on a joint BME Black Minority Ethnic Attainment project with the Vice President Education Welfare Rana Farooq of Hertfordshire University Students Union regarding developing a video talking about expectations of BME students lecturers and promoting the BME success story Establish a 25 printing grant for every student to help with the cost of printing their work IN PROGRESS Currently new students are given 1 towards printing costs but end up spending much more every year With student budgets tightly stretched such a grant would be very welcome I have met the Faculty of Arts Senior management team to discuss the plan and how we can both develop a business case that we can present to the University Highlight accountability of elected Officers COMPLETED Elected Officers should be completely accountable for what we do and there should be a high level of transparency in our actions This year full time officers and a senior member of staff from the

    attention of the Faculty Rep and SLO It also allows the Faculty Rep and SLO to give Course Reps feedback on issues they have raised at previous meetings or disseminate information they have gained at Department level meetings Cross Campus Informal Meetings Course Rep and Faculty Reps These will be arranged as necessary by the Academic Vice President and will give you the opportunity to meet reps from other Faculties and informally discuss issues you re dealing with as well as getting advice from the Academic Vice President Faculty Quality Enhancement Committee Faculty Reps This meeting occurs around five times per year and is attended by lecturing staff School administrative staff Learning Centre staff Registry staff and the Faculty Rep This is the place to discuss anything of concern at Department Faculty level For example are Course Reps having trouble resolving issues at course level Can these issues be addressed by the faculty management instead Meetings Arranged by Students Union Staff Students Union Council Faculty Reps SUC meets around three times per term and it guides the policy of the Students Union Faculty Reps have voting powers at SUC Course Reps don t But any student can attend to find
